GDC Nagrota observes International Day Against Drug Abuse

NAGROTA, June 27: The NSS Unit and NCORD of Government Degree College Nagrota organized a Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Under the guidance of the esteemed Principal, Prof. Anjali Mahajan, the event aimed to raise awareness about the severe issues associated with drug abuse, particularly among the youth.
Prof. Mahajan highlighted the importance of the event, emphasizing its purpose to educate the general public, especially teenagers and youngsters, about the dangers of drug abuse. "Our goal is to empower the youth with knowledge and awareness to combat the growing menace of drug addiction in society," she stated.
The students of the college participated with great enthusiasm, creatively expressing their views through impactful posters and thought-provoking slogans. The competition showcased the students' commitment to the cause and their understanding of the critical issue.
In addition to the competition, a movie screening was organized to further educate the students about the detrimental effects of drug abuse. The film provided a comprehensive view of the consequences of drug addiction, reinforcing the message of the day's events.
The initiative received positive feedback from the participants and attendees, who appreciated the college's efforts in addressing such a significant social issue. The event successfully conveyed the message of the International Day against Drug Abuse, fostering a sense of responsibility and awareness among the young minds.
