| 14 bottles of illicit liquor recovered by police | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, June 27: Acting sternly against the sale and purchase of illicit liquor, J&K Police recovered 14 bottles of Desi Whisky 750 ml each ( illicit liquor ) at Sarthali area of PS Bani and 01 person arrested in this connection.
On 26.06.2024 an information was received through a reliable source at PS Bani that few persons were involved in sale and purchase of illicit liquor in the JD of PS Bani at Sarthali area. Acting swifty police team led by SHO PS Bani under the guidance of SDPO Basohli during special checking/patrolling at Sarthali area noticed one suspicious person who was doing the trade of selling illicit liquor to the people in order to gain illegitimate profit and roaming under suspicious circumstances. During naka checking at Sarthali the police team was able to apprehend one person namely 1. Ved Parkash S/o Mir Chand R/o Jannu Bhoond and recovered 14 bottles i.e 14 Bottles of Desi Whisky 750 ml each from his illegal possession. Thereafter all the recovered consignment of illicit liquor i. e 14 bottles of Desi Whisky ( illicit liquor) were seized and 01 person was arrested on spot. On this an instant case vide FIR No. 34/2024 U/S 48(a)/ Excise Act got registered at PS Bani and further investigation into this matter has been geared up. |
