Jammu, Mar 16 : Alleging that the recently concluded Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Session here in the winter capital of the state was being used for promoting 'communalism' and 'secessionism', the Panun Kashmir today said that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared its intention to seek a mandate from the Assembly to change the name of the district Anantnag to Islamabad. ''PDP raised the issue of changing the name of Anantnag to Islamabad, which is a clear declaration of using the Assembly for ''communal'' and ''exclusivist'' agendas,'' Ajay Chrungoo, chairman Panun Kashmir told mediapersons at a press conference here this afternoon. Mr Chrungoo said the proceedings of the new assembly, the elections to the Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council, have once again shown the sway of communal tendencies and reach of forces, who have institutionalised discrimination. ''Solution to the problems in Jammu and Kashmir lay in empowering those people who have faith in Indian Constitution and unity of the nation,'' Mr Chrungoo said. He added that only reorganisation of the state, which must include creation of Panun Kashmir with a Union Territory, North and East of River Jhelum for the rehabilitation of internally displaced Kashmiri Hindus.
