Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 29: Shiv Sena (UBT) state unit has expressed doubts on the intention of the newly formed NDA government at the Center regarding returning full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and has appealed to the people to come out on the streets in unity for the restoration of their rights.
In a press conference held today at the party's state central office, state chief Manish Sahni said that no positive signals are being received from the central government regarding returning full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, the restoration of democratic process i.e. assembly elections is also not being taken forward beyond verbal statements. Despite the deadline set by the Hon'ble High Court approaching, the dates for the elections are not being announced. Sahni said that about five years ago in August 2019, Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two union territories with the promise of returning the status of the state soon. Despite a long gap, no positive signals are being received from the central government regarding returning the status of the state. Rather the hopes of getting the status of the state are decreasing due to the decisions of the central government. In the year 2021, the Jammu and Kashmir cadre of the civil services was abolished and now the Jammu and Kashmir Police budget has been separated from the annual budget of the state and included in the budget of the Union Home Ministry. Which directly indicates that Jammu and Kashmir is not going to get the status of a full state in the near future. Sahni said that all limits of tolerance have been crossed regarding the restoration of its rights. Sahni appealed to the people to come out on the streets to save their cultural identity, rights and the existence of Jammu and Kashmir. On this occasion, President Women Wing Meenakshi Chhibber, General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Vice President Balwant Singh, President Kamgar Wing Raj Singh were present.
