Jammu, June 29: In keeping with its longstanding tradition of service during religious and social events, the Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS) inaugurated a langer seva (free meal service) for the pilgrims of the Amarnath Yatra. The event took place at the Sabha premises on Shalimar Road, Jammu.
The langer was officially inaugurated by Seema Parihar, Sub District Magistrate of R. S. Pura, alongside Romesh Chander Gupta, President of JCMS, and Arun Gupta, President of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries. The inauguration saw the attendance of JCMS office bearers, prominent citizens, and heads of various organizations, all gathered to support and cheer the Sabha’s noble initiative.
SDM Seema Parihar praised JCMS for their dedication to humanitarian service, noting the importance of community involvement in such efforts. “Providing free food, tea, and snacks to the pilgrims through contributions from office bearers and committee members is commendable,” she said. Parihar also expressed gratitude to the Sabha for offering space for a registration counter, aiding the administration in managing the influx of pilgrims.
Romesh Chander Gupta highlighted the role of donors in sustaining the langer seva, inviting the public to contribute to the cause. He commended the continuous support from administration officials, including Anoop Kumar, BDO Marh, and Manesh Goswami, Magistrate on Duty, for ensuring the smooth conduct of yatra-related activities.
Arun Gupta extended his congratulations to the JCMS team for their cooperation with government efforts and distributed prasad among the devotees.
