CMO team drubs SDH Bhaderwah in Late Manjeet Singh memorial Cricket match

DODA, June 30: Sr Cricketer Sh Sheikh Shahnawaz and Nasir K Shah (Journalist), on Sunday hosted a one-day cricket exhibition match to pay tribute and homage to the late legendary Cricketer and Social Activist, Late Manjeet Singh for his remarkable contribution to the game of sports.
In this connection, a match was played between team from CMO Office Doda and SDH Bhaderwah, played at Govt PG College Ground Bhaderwah.
Earlier, before the start of the match, the event was formally inaugurated by Chief Guest Surinder Singh Thakur (Father of Late Manjeet Singh) along with CMO Dr Om Kumar, BMO Bhaderwah Dr Mohd Ashraf, Lavinder Singh, Ravi Thakur, and other dignitaries. A two-minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
The CMO Office Doda team was led by Umar Anayat, while the SDH Bhaderwah team was led by Dr Mohammad Ashraf (BMO Bhaderwah).
CMO Office team, after winning the toss, elected to bat first.
Batting first, DHS Doda set a decent target of 146 runs for losing all their wickets in 19.3 overs. Dr Waseem Natnoo was the top scorer with 40 runs, while Irfan Thukar scored 18 runs for the team. From SDH Bhaderwah, Kalwant Singh scalped 03 wickets, while Dr Subhash Sharma and Mehboob Ahmed took 2 wickets each.
While chasing the target, SDH Bhaderwah team could not manage to get the target and score only 137 runs in alloted 20 overs, thus lost the match by 08 runs. Mohd Faddi was the highest scorer who made 24 runs, while Mehboob Ahmed contributed 22 runs to the total. From CMO Doda team, Umar Anayat was the most successful bowler who grabbed 02 wickets.
Dr Waseem Natnoo of CMO office Doda team was declared as Man of the Match for brilliant all-round performance. During the prize distribution ceremony, which was attended by the father of Late Manjeet Singh, distributed winning and runner up trophies to both the teams.
The Chief Guest Sh Surinder Singh lauded the efforts of organizers and congratulated both the teams for exhibiting their cricketing skill in the match.
The match was officiated by Haddi Rishoo, Naveed Khan and Mohd Haris.
