Bharat Vikas Parishad Shivalik branch organizes women empowerment programme

JAMMU, June 30: The Bharat Vikas Parishad Shivalik Branch, Channi Himmat, Jammu, organized a one-day programme under the mission "Women Empowerment" at their Silai Prashikshan Kendra. This initiative aims to empower women by enabling them to make their own decisions for social and economic development. The Kendra trains students in cutting and tailoring, and this programme awarded certificates to the qualified students for the session 2023-24.
The event also marked the celebration of Sewa Pakhwara from June 27 to July 10, 2024, on the eve of the birth anniversary of Dr. Suraj Parkash Gupta, founder of the Bharat Vikas Parishad. This training is expected to help the graduates earn their livelihood and become self-dependent.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp and the tune of "Vande Mataram." H.S. Vaid, President, welcomed the audience and thanked them for their participation. He congratulated and appreciated the relentless efforts made by the project in-charge, Smt. Sunita Mahajan, and every member of the branch for making the event successful. He emphasized the organization's mission to make women self-dependent and "Atmanirbhar" (self-reliant), fostering the spirit of service and moral values among the masses and students to better serve society.
B. B. Sharma, President Prant, highlighted the basic objectives of Bharat Vikas Parishad as a social organization. He appreciated and congratulated the students and the Shivalik Branch team for promoting such a noble cause, assuring full support to the branch. The three pedestal machines donated by UPL Ltd. Samba were acknowledged, with unit head Ponnu Samy and Amit Choudhary (H.R) honored with Angvastras by H.S. Vaid.
Certificates were distributed among the qualified students by B. B. Sharma, Ashok Gupta (Vice President Prant), and other dignitaries. Ashok Khajuria, Secretary, conducted the proceedings of the programme effectively, and Anju Bansal, Mahila Parmukh Branch, presented the vote of thanks.
Dignitaries attending the programme included Arun Sharma (Centre Committee NGSC), Shiv Sharma (Secretary Prant), S. Jagjit Singh Ishar (Environment Parmukh), Raksh Sharma (Treasurer), Dr. Vijay Sharma (Co-convener Media Prant), Arti Sharma (Mahila Parmukh Prant), Prof. Virinder Gupta, Shashi Gupta, Vandana Mani, and other members of the Shivalik Branch, Channi Himmat, Jammu.
