| Aggarwal inaugurates 3-day training course on terrorism, counter insurgency | | |

Udhampur, Mar 16-Director Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy Naveen Aggarwal , today inaugurated a 3-day long training course on terrorism and counter insurgency here at SKPA complex. In the 3-day training course, 37 police officers from Inspector to SSP from different parts of the State are taking part. Apart from this a 2-day long course on store keeping was also inaugurated in the Academy in which 17 NGO’s are participating. Speaking at the inaugural function the Director said that the main objective of orientation course is to introduce young officers to the security scenario and response of State Police to the challenges posed by cross border terrorism. He said the State has been witnessing the menace of terrorism for the last two decades and the subject of the course has been chosen very appropriately. He said the course has provided a common platform to senior police officers to share their views and experiences to tackle the burning problem of terrorism across the country and hoped that the participating officers would be benefited in a big way by undergoing such an educative and interactive course which would of great relevance for them while handling militancy in their respective jurisdictions.. Giving stress upon the need of modern techniques while combating terrorism in country Director Academy said that during the course new techniques will be taught as to how to tackle militancy in the country keeping in view the changing strategy by terrorists Besides others, Ravinder Singh Samayal Assistant Director out door, Abdul Gani Choudhary Assistant Director (Adm) and Tashi Rgzin Assistant Director indoor were present on the occasion.
