| Army commander interacts with Dras children | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | SEPT 21 Army Commander Northern Command, Lt. Gen Deepak Kapoor, interacted with children from Dras on their return from an excursion to Luckhnow, New Delhi and Agra. The tour was an initiative by the Army under its people friendly Operation Sadbhavana. A premier objective of these excursion tours is to enhance the knowledge of the children of militancy affected and remote regions of the State of J&K by exposing them to the culture and ethos of out nation. He described Dras as role model for religious harmony and brotherhood, in spite of the challenging conditions of terrorism prevailing in the neighboring regions. He told the children that their elders had successfully fought divisive forces and had fostered an exemplary spirit of national integration. He extolled the children to pursue the secular, liberal and democratic principles so close to the hearts of their elders and work hard to create a niche for themselves on the road to progress on which our country has embarked. He assured them of continued support by the Army and advised them to fully utilize the facilities provided under Operation Sadbhavana to add to their vocational skills. The children were also presented with gifts.
