Paris Olympics 2024: Know How IOC Is Set To Enhance Viewing Experience
7/1/2024 8:25:43 PM
The Paris Olympics is around the corner even as the sporting world is looking forward keenly for the showpiece event. While many sports lovers would be in Paris to enjoy a first-hand experience of the event, others would be glued to their screen to watch their favorite athletes in action.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) have taken an initiative to transform the broadcast experience for the fans. The IOC and the OBS have collaborated with smartphone maker Samsung to capture and stream the historic opening ceremony on the Seine River and the sailing events at the Games.
The Samsung Galaxy mobile technology will be used to capture the iconic moments of the Olympics and the 5G connectivity provided by Orange will enhance the live streaming experience. To this end, the smartphone maker will install over 200 Galaxy S24 Ultra devices to shoot high-quality footages of the celebratory moments.
The initiative comes at a time when most of the sports lovers are expected to view the 2024 Paris Olympic Games through their mobile phones. With the smartphones always available to them, viewers can watch the games on the go and follow the happenings on a real-time basis. And, after watching the tough competitions of the Paris Games, viewers can sit back and relax by playing virtual games. With so many online games available, users are spoilt for options. Presently, mobile technology has revolutionized our way of living. From watching movies to shopping online, the lifestyle of the current generation has undergone a thorough transformation. The latest initiative by the IOC and Samsung is a testimony to a drive of digital transformation.
“In an increasingly connected society, Samsung Galaxy mobile technology has helped deepen and transform users’ relationships with the world, wherever they are. Having been a Worldwide Partner for nearly three decades, we know first-hand how important it is to create and enable the same meaningful connections at the Olympic and Paralympic Games,” said Stephanie Choi, associated with Samsung.
The Opening Ceremony on July 26 will be one-of-its-kind as contingents will parade through the Seine River. 85 vessels will carry 10, 500 athletes afloat in what is poised to be an iconic moment in Olympics history .
“Samsung’s latest mobile innovation will allow millions of fans around the world to live and breathe the spirit, action and emotion of the Opening Ceremony and sailing competitions alongside their favorite athletes in real-time.” said Yiannis Exarchos, Chief Executive Officer of OBS.
Samsung will reveal more in coming weeks as to how the mobile technology will be harnessed further to connect fans and athletes during the Paris Olympics 2024.
