Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar16-The Jammu and Kashmir Khana Badosh Gujjar and Bakerwal Tehreek-e-Insaf today highlighted the burning problems being faced by the nomadic population of Gujjars and Bakerwals in the state.
In order to focus the attention of government towards their demands, Nomads Gujjar and Bakerwal held a rally and submitted memorandum to the government.
Talking to the media persons, Mohammed Aslam Kohli, Gujjar leader said that on the basis of pitiable and pathetic condition of nomads, the ST status was granted to them but till date no benefit has really percolated to this section of the community. He demanded permanent settlement, BPL facility, all sorts of basic facilities, allotment of government land for their rehabilitation, employment to youth, and creation of colony for nomads besides an enquiry into alleged mis-appropriation of TSP funds.
