Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 16- Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the Self Rule of his party is the only viable and ultimate solution to end this bloodshed in the trouble torn Jammu and Kashmir State. “The New Delhi has to consider our Self Rule proposal seriously as this will bring peace and prosperity not only in Jammu and Kashmir but in the entire south Asia,” he said
Prof. Malik, who along with members of Civil Society, met PDP Patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed said that PDP in coming times would forcefully pursue its Self-Rule agenda for Kashmir resolution to usher the State and the region into an era of peace, dignity, stability and prosperity. “People of all the three regions State have substantively reposed their faith in the PDP's agenda for Kashmir resolution in recently held assembly elections and it is now the responsibility of all the PDP workers to safeguard their political and economic interests,” Prof. Shohab said
He also maintained that the wide-ranging public acknowledgment of the fact that a credible leadership and pro-people agenda of PDP has discernibly impacted the State's political and development landscape is the outcome of the party's conviction towards its political and developmental agenda. “Our party has been constantly and with conviction raising the issues touching the skin of all the three regions of the state and its regional aspirations.

About the collapse of Batote-Doda road, Prof. Shohab said it is an irony that a major chunk of the State's population spread over a vast area in the Chenab valley region where most of the power projects, both in the Central and the State sector are operational and many more are coming up, instead of drawing any economic benefit are today suffering the most because of the unfair and unrestrained exploitation of the area's water and natural resources.
Prof. Shohab Malik said that since Doda-Batote road has been declared unsafe for vehicular movements after a stretch of 1500 meters washed away near Assar, therefore to connect both Doda and Kishtwar district with the rest of the world, opening of Kishtwar-Sinthan and Doda-Kapran road is need of hour. “It is the need of the hour that both these routes connecting Doda and Kisthwar with the rest of the world should be opened without any delay,” said Prof. Malik
