| Army flags off Sadbhavana tour for Rajouri students | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Mar 16- Under Op Sadbhavana the ‘White Knight Corps’ has organized several education and motivational tours for the children of far flung border areas affected by the terrorism. In the Rajouri district a twin tour has been planned to the historical and famous places in the states of Maharashtra, Goa and Rajasthan. These tours are being conducted by various units of Ace of Spade Division. The tour was flagged off by General Officer Commanding, Ace of Spade Division at ALG, her today. Prominent military and civilian dignitaries were present during the occasion. During interaction with the children, the guest of honour asked them to spread the message of peace at the places they visit and also witness the rapid development of these states in various fields. One tour would visit Pune, Mumbai and Goa where the children will have the opportunity to see the famous National Defence Academy, Army Sports Institute, College of Military Engineering, Gateway of India, Museum and other places of interest. In the second tour the children will have the opportunity to visit Jaipur, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur in the state of Rajasthan. The tour will include visits to Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Amber Fort, Dargah Sharief and other places of historical significance.
The twin tours will provide the children an exposure to the different cultures and development work undertaken by these states. These tours will also help instill a sense of national integration amongst these children and establish close relations between the locals and the Army.
The locals and the parents of these children expressed their gratitude to the Army for giving an opportunity to their children to see other parts of the country which otherwise would not have been possible.
