Director Agriculture concludes extensive two-day tour of Ramban

JAMMU, July 2: The Director Agriculture Jammu, Arvinder Singh Reen, recently concluded a comprehensive two-day tour of Ramban district, aimed at reviewing various agricultural development initiatives and inspecting key projects under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).
On the first day, Director Reen held a detailed review meeting with the Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) of Ramban along with Sub Divisional Officers from Ramban, Gool, and other senior officials of the Agriculture Department. Discussions during this session focused on the progress and challenges of ongoing HADP schemes in the district. Following the meeting, Director Agriculture visited the establishment of the Kissan Khidmat Ghar (KKG) at Batote, Ramban. This visit underscored the Agriculture Department's commitment to enhancing agricultural infrastructure and support facilities in remote areas.
Later in the day, the Director conducted a field visit to inspect the organic vegetable crop at the Organic Cluster under PKVY, located in village Ladhwal, sub-division Ramban. This initiative aligns with the Department's efforts to promote organic farming and sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
On the second day of his tour, Reen visited the Potato Seed Development Farm at Natha Top. The primary focus of this visit was to assess and implement corrective measures for the control of nematodes, as well as strategizing to increase seed production at the farm. The Director was accompanied by the Farm Manager and other staff personnel from the Agriculture Department, who actively participated in discussions and assessments. Throughout the tour, A.S Reen emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts and innovative strategies in achieving agricultural growth and sustainability in Ramban district. His interactions with local officials and farmers were aimed at understanding ground-level challenges and exploring opportunities for further development of agriculture in the region.
The Director expressed satisfaction with the progress of ongoing projects and assured continued support from the Agriculture Department towards the welfare and prosperity of farmers in Ramban district.
