IGNOU launches much awaited BA programme in MSME; extends last date for admission and re-registration

JAMMU, July 3: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched the much awaited new Bachelor Degree Programme in Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (BAMSME) from the current July 2024 admission cycle. The programme will be offered to the candidates who have qualified 10+2 in any discipline from a recognized board. The programme is being offered in ODL mode only. However, the study material will be available in both print as well as digital mode. The programme will take up discipline specific core topics like Entrepreneurship and Small Business, Business Communication, Financial Accounting, CSR Projects & Programs, Business Organization and Management, IPR for MSMEs & Start-ups, Principles of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Institutional Support to MSMEs, HRM and Industrial relation in MSMEs, e-commerce.
The programme will aid in increasing job opportunities among the youth in India. Those who want to make a career as an entrepreneur and would like to update their existing knowledge and skills in the field of micro, small or medium enterprise would find this programme useful. The BAVMSME programme would help to inculcate knowledge for recognizing business opportunities, market study, innovation and implementation; planning and designing of a new project; exploring investment opportunities; development and maintenance of business, marketing and social networking; taxation and obtaining licenses.
The programme seeks to create opportunities for unskilled workers as well as practicing entrepreneurs to get trained and upskill their experience. The programme will enhance skills as per industry needs. Industry experts and successful entrepreneurs will share their experiences to provide practical insights.
Admissions are open twice a year, in the July and January admission cycles, through the official SAMARTH portal of IGNOU https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in the link of which is available on National website of IGNOU www.ignou.ac.in
In a press statement, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu, Dr. Jai Prakash Verma stated that main objectives of the programme are to enhance knowledge, skill and competencies to start one's own business venture; to study the market demand before initiating a business enterprise; to successfully and profitably operate one's own enterprise. He added that for the benefit of the student community the University has extended the last date of admissions till July 15, 2024 and the aspiring students must avail the opportunity of date extension and enroll themselves for this much awaited programme or any other programme of their choice well before the deadline.
