Early Times Report

DODA, July 3: The Labour Department Doda in collaboration with the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Doda organized an awareness cum on-spot registration camp on the e-Shram Portal targeting truck drivers, helpers, and co-drivers at various locations in Doda.
Participants were informed that registration on the e-SHRAM portal requires Aadhaar details, a bank account number linked with the Aadhaar card, and that the age limit for registration is 18 to 59. The camp aimed to educate attendees on the benefits of registering on the e-Shram portal, including access to social security benefits such as insurance and pension schemes. On-spot registration counters were set up by the Labour Department Doda to facilitate immediate registration for the beneficiaries.
The event at Doda Bridge was attended by Deputy Labour Commissioner Jammu, Vinakshi Koul; Assistant Labour Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Adnan Tariq; Labour Officer Doda, Inspector MVD Doda, staff from both departments, and representatives from the Driver Union, including truck drivers, helpers, and co-drivers. These officials provided guidance and support throughout the registration process.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Doda emphasized that this initiative aligns with the government's efforts to promote the welfare and well-being of workers in the unorganized sector. By registering on the e-Shram Portal, eligible workers can access essential social security benefits, enhancing their financial stability and security.
