Early Times Report

Jammu, July 5: Even as the BJP has retained two Lok Sabha seats of Jammu province, the newly appointed election incharge of J&K G Kishan Reddy is not satisfied with the preparations of the party for the coming Assembly elections in the Union Territory.
Highly placed sources said that during the meeting of the state office bearers, the Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, who was recently appointed incharge of the much-awaited maiden Assembly elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, sought reports from office bearers about preparations for the party.
“The Union Minister also sought details about the performance of the party in the just concluded Lok Sabha elections in J&K in general and Jammu province in particular”, sources said and added that after going through the performance of the party, especially in the urban areas, he cautioned the party leaders against adopting the casual approach in the coming Assembly elections.
Sources said that in the presence of the Union Minister and other senior leaders, office bearers of the party admitted that the performance of party was not on expected lines in the Lok Sabha elections. “During the meeting, officer bearers asked that it was high time for introspection because Congress has managed to retrieve its ground in some urb

n areas of Jammu district which is a warning signal for the party”, a source said. As reported earlier, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has been appointed as election in-charge of poll-bound Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders are likely to submit detailed reports of the party’s vote in the polling booth of their respective localities during the state executive meeting on Saturday.
Following a significant decline in the BJP’s vote share in the recent Lok Sabha elections, senior party leaders have been instructed to provide detailed reports on the polling booths in their localities.
Despite retaining both Lok Sabha seats in Jammu province, the BJP is concerned about the sharp drop in its vote share, which fell from 46.2% to 24.36%. This decline has prompted the party leadership to take action.
As reported earlier, it has been noted that many senior leaders, including state office bearers, district presidents, and Mandal presidents, failed to secure a lead for party candidates in the recent elections. A dozen senior leaders, despite holding significant positions within the party, did not achieve respectable vote counts in their polling booths. Instead of active campaigning, these leaders were primarily engaged in social media activities during the Lok Sabha elections.
