5-day open Badminton tournament concludes at Mini Stadium Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, July 6: The five-day open 4th edition Badminton Tournament, organized by the District Youth Services & Sports Department Udhampur, in collaboration with Den of Shuttlers Club, concluded here at Mini Stadium.
A total of 195 participants from across the district competed in the tournament. Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai was the chief guest, while Paras Thappa, Commandant ITBP, was the guest of honour at the closing ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, the DC congratulated the organizers for the successful conduct of the tournament. She emphasized that the aim of the event was to spread awareness about the importance of taking necessary steps to curb drug abuse, particularly among the youth.
The DC reiterated that the District Administration is committed to create a drug-free environment in Udhampur and assured that all necessary measures would be taken to achieve this goal. She encouraged the participants to continue engaging in sports for their physical and mental well-being.
The DC commended the initiative taken by the organizers to boost morale and instill a spirit of sportsmanship in the participants. She expressed hope that such tournaments would significantly attract the youth towards sports.
The DC also interacted with the participants, urging them to actively take part in sports activities for their overall development. She extended her best wishes to all participants for their future endeavors.
Later, the chief guest distributed prizes and certificates to the winners and participants.
