5 day course on “Advance Technology in Forensic Science” commenced at S.K Police Academy Udhampur

Jammu, July 6: Five days course on “Advance Technology in Forensic Science” commenced in S.K Police Academy on 2nd of July, 2024 culminated today. In the course 10 officers of J&K Police participated.
The Course was designed with the aim to equip the participants with the knowledge on cutting-edge tools and techniques used in forensic science to elevate the investigation skills of investigating officers.
During the course, expert instructors and practitioners delivered deliberations on the topics such as Handling and preservation of scene of Crime, Forensic clues of Blood, Semen, Saliva, Forensic examination of arms & ammunition, Collection, preservation & forwarding of physical evidence to the Forensic Science Laboratory, Lifting & packing of fingerprints, Importance of post mortem examination, forensic clues in explosive cases. Additionally, a visit to Forensic Science Laboratory Jammu was arranged to familiarize participants with the latest Forensic Technologies, Recent trends in advancement in NDPS Cases, Forensic Toxicology, Forensic documents examination, Emerging trends and future directions in the field and Securing the Scene of Crime in Explosive cases. At the valediction function organized at the Academy. Ramnish Gupta, JKPS, SSP, Dy. Director (Admn) SKPA was the chief guest. Shri Gupta laid emphasises the importance of participants keeping themselves updated with modern techniques in Forensic Science and understanding the content to be asked by and investigating officers from FSL when forwarding physical evidences. He also stressed the importance securing the crime scene. The course was coordinated by Mehmood Ahmed, Inspr. assisted by HC Randip Singh, member faculty.
