102nd International Day of Cooperatives Celebrated with pledge to strengthening Cooperatives at grass root

Jammu, July 6: On the occasion of 102nd International Day of cooperatives which is celebrated worldwide on 1st Saturday of July special program of cooperatives and FPO awareness was kept at Samba (JKUT), Jammu, Rajouri and Talwar (Punjab) by the Unati Agri Allied and Marketing Multistate Cooperative Society Limited (UAMMCL) and Jammu & Kashmir Dairy Cooperative Federation (JKDCF).
The main program was held at Gandhinagar (Gujarat) under the leadership of Sh. Amit Shah ji (the Honble Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation) organized by NCUI (National Cooperative Union of India)
While speaking on the occasion Vikrant Dogra (Chairman, UAMMCL & JKDCF) said that the Ministry of Cooperation, under the leadership of Sh. Amit Shah has launched 54 new initiatives in just a short span of 3 years, since its inspection, which will set the tone of development of rural and agriculture economy on the principles of cooperation.
He further lauded the efforts of Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani Secretary Ministry of cooperation and their team for igniting the entire cooperative moment and help the United Nations to declare 2025as ``International year of Cooperatives’ ‘. He further said that it is for the first time the international cooperatives day is celebrated in JKUT especially after the revival of the cooperative movement in JKUT in the last three years.
Vikrant Dogra further said that for the first time in JKUT one multi state cooperative has been formed which will provide much needed backward and forward linkage to the FPOs and SHGs at grass root level and link the cooperative FPOs with neighboring states under mentorship of Sh Jyotiswaroop.
The apex dairy cooperative federation which will complete its first year has integrated the dairy sector in JKUT after the abrogation of article 370. He further said the Unati has got affiliation with NCOL, NECL, NCCF Bharatiya Bhej Sehkarita samiti and other national federations to bring “Bharat Brand ‘’ to JKUT and neighboring states. He thanked Sh. Dileep Singhani (Chairman, NCUI) for his support and Smt Babila Rakwal (secretary, Cooperatives JKUT) for providing all timely help to the cooperatives (FPOs).
