| Advocate from Bhalesa joins PDP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar17- Prominent social worker and columnist Imtiyaz Ahmed Mir, advocate of Bhalesa, Bhaderwah, along with his large number of supporters, joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) here today in presence of the party patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Former Minister and senior PDP leader Peer Mohammad Hussain was also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said that PDP has been emerging as biggest political force in Jammu and Kashmir and joining of large number of people in this party is a clear indication that PDP has been becoming voice of the masses of Jammu and Kashmir. Welcoming Mir in the party, Sayeed said that programs and policies of the PDP are guided by the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and hoped that with the joining of Imtiyaz Mir, PDP would be strengthened in Doda district in general and Bhaderwah area in particular. Imtiyaz Ahmed Mir, in his address, said that he has decided to join the PDP due to the policies and programs of the party. Terming Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as visionary leader who has pioneered the reconciliatory and pro-peace agenda, Mir said that it is all due to the sincere efforts of Sayeed that peace has been restored in the sub-continent in general and Kashmir in particular. Other prominent leaders who joined PDP along with Imtiyaz Ahmed Mir included Abdul Qayoom Mir, Bashir Ahmed Malik, Javed Sheikh and Gyatri Devi.
