7/7/2024 11:13:50 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 7: BJP national president and Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Sunday asked the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the party to initiate the process of shortlisting potential candidates for the maiden Assembly elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the Jammu and Kashmir BJP’s Core Group meeting, Nadda made it clear that the party would aggressively contest the coming Assembly elections with a target of “Mission -50” to form its own government in the Union Territory.
“National president cautioned the local leadership against adopting the causal or non-serious approach in shortlisting candidates”, a source in the party said, adding, “Despite retaining both the Lok Sabha seats of Jammu province, BJP high-command is not happy with Congress’s performance on some seats of Jammu district”.
Sources said that during the Core-Group meeting, the BJP national president made it clear that the party would fight Assembly elections very seriously to expose dynastic political parties of J&K. “The national president made it clear that the BJP would fight elections on the majority of Assembly seats”, sources said.
