Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 8: A meeting of the Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (Regd.) was held today under the chairmanship of R. P. Kakkar, President of T.N.W.S. Jammu. The residents of Trikuta Nagar Colony discussed several pressing issues and suggestions to be brought to the attention of Chief Secretary Atal Dullu. The aim is to secure timely directives and sufficient funding to address these concerns. Key points from the meeting are as follows
The current drinking water supply is unsatisfactory.
Residents demand the construction of a new borewell in Ward 54.
Suggestion to consider the Chenab River water lift filtration project, which could resolve the drinking water supply issues for Jammu city and Trikuta Nagar Colony permanently.
Door-to-door garbage collection is irregular, and the existing staff, despite their dedication, lack proper tools and machinery.
Jammu Municipal Corporation should improve the availability of garbage collection vehicles and ensure regular removal of waste from drains.
The maintenance staff lacks sufficient stock to address street light complaints promptly.
Suggestion to operate street lights from a command control room to automate switching off during daylight hours and save energy.
Recent speed breakers on main roads are ineffective.
Suggestion to reconstruct speed breakers using concrete materials, ensuring durability and effective coverage from drain to drain.
Recent power cuts lasted four hours due to issues with the 11 KV network.
The existing network is damaged, and cables are hanging at various places, requiring immediate removal and repair.
The meeting was attended by prominent society members including Ashok Kumar Arora, Sandeep Sharma, Madam Rubal Mahajan, Krishan Lal Gupta, V. K. Suri, Harshvardhan Gupta, S. N. Kaul, Dr. T. R. Gupta, and a large gathering of Trikuta Nagar residents.
