SCERT-J&K honors student design creators from Jammu region

JAMMU, July 9: The State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) Jammu & Kashmir proudly acknowledges the achievements of participants in Toycathon 2023, under the leadership of Director JKSCERT, Prof. (Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas. This initiative saw the creation of 115 innovative toy designs, promoting "Make in India" and nurturing creativity among students.
SCERT J&K collaborated with CGPDTM to organize workshops resulting in 115 successful design registrations supported by DPIIT's IP Mitra program.
In a prestigious ceremony, 31 students from Jammu Division were awarded Certificates of Registration of Design by The Patent Office, Government of India. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Prof. (Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas Director SCERT, J&K, Ashok Kumar Sharma JKAS, Director School Education Jammu, N Ramchander, Joint Controller of Patents and Design, Delhi, Secretary JKBOSE Manisha Sareen, Joint Director DSEJ Subah Mehta and Joint Director JKSCERT Central H. R Pakhroo.
Another Glittering feather on the cap as Sehrish of class 9th from Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua achieved notable success with her Bioscope toy design, securing a patent registration. *Sehrish's journey, from initial participation in a school-level competition to national acclaim, underscores the power of determination, creativity, and support for youth innovation in India. Special acknowledgment goes to Principal Mili R Sumbria and mentor Sheetal Sharma and Mukesh for their unwavering support.
Prof. (Dr.) Manhas emphasized the significance of Toycathon as a pivotal platform for fostering innovation, advocating for its continuity. Ashok Kumar Sharma and N Ramchander lauded the students and stressed the importance of NEP 2020 and safeguarding intellectual property.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Vivek Jandyal, orchestrated by Monica Sharma.
