| Samba college debates environment issue | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 17- To create awareness among the people about the safe environment, Directorate of Ecology and Remote Sensing Department, in collaboration with Department of Environment Sciences Government Degree College Samba, organized a day long seminar on the topic of ‘Environmental pollution and role of youth’. Dr. Ajeet Angral, Principal of the college who presided over the function highlighted the role of staff and the students in promoting creating among the masses. Prof Uma Sharma President Patanjlali Yogpeeth familiarized the students with Yoga and personality development techniques. The participants at the seminar presented highly innovative and thought provoking views and ideas regarding different kinds of pollution and their causes and the role of youth in improving the environment. Suman, Anjana and Sushma, who along with other students took part in the seminar, were adjudged first, second and third respectively. R C Sharma, environment soil conservationist familiarized the students with the basic problems of pollution and said that indiscriminate felling of trees and removal of vegetative cover were the main reasons for environmental degradation.
