Kotwal Stresses hassle free financial assitance

JAMMU, MARCH 17 - Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal today convened a high level meeting to review the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in the state.
ADDC Jammu Mr. T. Angchok, Director KVIC Mr. B. R. Chauhan, CEO KVIB Dr. A. Rashid were among others present during the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Kotwal said that PMEGP, a new credit linked subsidy programme, has been introduced for generation of employment opportunities through establishment of micro enterprises in rural as well as urban areas and its implementation in letter and spirit can help provide continuous and sustainable employment to people in the state besides check plight of rural youth to urban areas.
Divisional Commissioner stressed on close liaison between various implementing agencies to ensure that hassle free financial assistance be provided for setting up of projects by the potential entrepreneurs. He said that there is need to explore the potential in the state so that various employment opportunities can be generated in the rural and urban area by self employment ventures for which there should be comprehensive orientation and awareness. He asked the officers to carry out proper scrutinization of the applications on the basis of experience skill and viability of projects before providing financial and technical assistance to the deserving entrepreneurs.
He was appraised at the various projects that have been sanctioned under the scheme in various districts as well those in pipelines. He asked the officers to ensure that the bottlenecks if any in the implementation aspect are resolved so that targets are effectively achieved on time
