| SW Deptt organizes AIDS awareness seminar | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, MARCH 17 -Social Welfare Department Jammu in collaboration with J&K AIDS Control Society and Government College for Women Gandhinagar, Jammu organized a one day AIDS awareness seminar for Anganwari workers at Government College for Women Gandhinagar today.
Project Director, J&K AIDS Control Society, Dr M A Wani was the chief guest while the function was presided over by Principal, GCW Gandhinagar Jammu Mrs Nalini Kohli.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Wani stressed on organizing such awareness campaign on regular basis as the deadly disease of AIDS is spreading like a wild fire all over the world. He said that Anganwari workers can help bring social change and awareness in the society as they are directly in touch with the masses. He also interacted with them and shared information on the issue.
The welcome address was given by Deputy Director, Social Welfare (Administration). She disclosed the various schemes being run by the Social Welfare Department for welfare of women and children.
