Jammu, March 17: Union Home Minister P Chidambaram is arriving in Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow and he will have a meeting with the Chief Minister and the top security brass. The Home Minister will also review the security situation ahead of the staggered five-phased Lok Sabha polls, starting next month. Sources said that previously only security for Parliamentary polls was on the agenda of the Home Minister’s meeting with state top brass but the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has also readied the probe report by then deputy commissioner Baramulla, Baseer Ahmad for the appraisal of the visiting union Minister. After the reported invalidation of probe report by the army, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that he will put across the concerns of the government to P Chidambaram during his visit to valley. Meanwhile, sources said that the security officials have also prepared their assessment on account of the security for ensuing LS polls. The main thrust, sources said, is likely to be on the demand of about 450 companies by the police for smooth conduct of the ensuing parliamentary polls, beginning 16th of the next month. Sources said that state police have made a demand of 450 companies of paramilitary troops to Union home Ministry for ensuing five phased polls for six parliamentary seats and also for the three by-election assembly segments of the state.
