| 6 MLCs administered oath | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 17: Deputy Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council Arvinder Micky today administered the oath of office to six newly-elected members of the House.
New MLCs -- Ajatshatru Singh, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy and Vijay Bakaya (all National Conference), B R Kundal (Congress), Syed Asgar Ali (PDP) and Syed Mohmmad Qafiq (JKNPP) -- were administered the oath of office by the deputy chairman in his office chamber here this morning, officials said.
They were elected along with five others on March 7 in the 36-member House.
As many as eleven seats had fallen vacant in the council for which five separate notifications were issued by the election authorities earlier.
Earlier, Narboo Gyalchan (Congress) and Aga Syed Ahmed (National Conference) had taken oath on March 12 and three other members-- Showkat Hussain Ganai and Altaf Ahmed Wani (both NC) and Jehangir Mir (Congress) had taken oath on March 9.
