JAMMU, July 13: Today, Director Agriculture Jammu, Arvinder Singh Reen, undertook a comprehensive tour of District Reasi to attend both the Farmers Producer Organization (FPO) saturation drive programme and the programme on Agro Forestry. The tour commenced with the Director attending a Farmers Producer Organization (FPO) saturation drive programme at Village Sirha, Block Panthal, District Reasi. The event focused on sensitizing FPO members about various schemes offered by the Agriculture Department and provided essential guidance on acquiring Seed, Fertilizer, and Pesticide licenses. The programme aimed to empower FPOs by enhancing their understanding of government schemes tailored to support agricultural productivity and sustainability. Through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations, FPO members were equipped with the necessary knowledge and resources to navigate licensing procedures effectively. Addressing the gathering, the Director underscored the department's commitment to bolstering the agricultural sector through strategic initiatives and partnerships with FPOs. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving agricultural growth and encouraged active participation from all stakeholders. Participants expressed their appreciation for the informative session, noting its relevance in streamlining operational processes and fostering sustainable agricultural practices within the community. Following this, Director A.S. Reen participated in the Agro Forestry programme "Har Medh par Pedh" organized by Assistant Agrostologist Jammu under the Sub Mission on Agro Forestry at Village Kun Kanyala, Panthal, District Reasi. This initiative highlighted the promotion of Agro Forestry by distributing various types of plants among farmers. The programme seeks to encourage sustainable farming practices and biodiversity conservation in the region. Expressing his commitment to agricultural development, Director Reen emphasized the importance of integrating modern agricultural techniques with traditional practices to boost productivity and income for farmers. He underscored the Agriculture Department's ongoing efforts to support farmers through innovative schemes and initiatives.
