KISHTWAR, July 13: In a significant move to curb drug abuse, District Police Kishtwar, under the leadership of SSP Kishtwar, working on multi-pronged strategy to combat drug abuse today one more notorious most wanted drug paddler Tousif Qayoom, also known as Tousif Chadda, booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) and lodged in District Jail Kathua.
The accused Tousif Qayoom @Tousif Chadda, S/O Ab Qayoom R/o Sarkoot area of Kishtwar, involved in numerous drug peddling cases, was uncovered through detailed investigations, highlighting the urgent need for his detention to protect the youth of Kishtwar from drug addiction.
After obtaining the PSA order, SSP Kishtwar constituted a dedicated team, under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs Kishtwar, to arrest this notorious drug peddler from Kishtwar and subsequently lodge him in District Jail Kathua.
SSP Kishtwar emphasized the district police's comprehensive approach to fighting drug abuse. This includes not only legal actions against peddlers but also community outreach and awareness programs to educate the public about the dangers of drugs. He issued a strong warning to other drug syndicates, stating unequivocally that there is no place for them in Kishtwar, and they must cease their activities or face stringent consequences.
