Kidnapped Minor girl recovered from Delhi within 24 hours: Police

Reasi, July 14: Swift action of District Police Reasi results in the recoverey of kidnapped minor girl (name withheld) resident of Sarwani, Jahangir Champa, Chhattisgarh, currently staying at Katra, from Delhi within 24 hours of receiving the complaint.
On 11.07.2024, a resident of Katra reported to Police Station Katra that his 8.5-year-old daughter went to the market and did not return back. Despite all efforts by family members, they are unable to locate her.
Upon receiving the complaint, a case (FIR No. 200/2024) under section 137(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Katra, and an immediate search operation was launched to recover the girl.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, SSP Reasi, S. Mohita Sharma-IPS, constituted a special team headed by SHO Katra to recover the girl as quickly as possible. By following the trail of CCTV footage, coupled with technical assistance, the location of the girl was established in Delhi.
A special team was dispatched to Delhi to ensure the swift recovery of the minor.
The team from Police Station Katra successfully recovered the kidnapped minor from the Kashmiri Gate area of Delhi and handed her over to his family after completing all legal formalities.
The accused involved in kidnapping namely Shankar Lal, son of the late Gauri Lal, aged 26 years, has been arrested in connection with this case. Further investigations are ongoing. The whole operation is done under the supervision of SP Katra and SDPO Katra.
The family expressed their profound gratitude to the Reasi Police for their diligent efforts in recovering their family member.
