Jammu, July 15: Cultural Secretary of Dogri Bhasha Academy, Jammu, distinguished humorous satire poet of Dogri and Hindi language, Shri Kewal Kumar Kewal ji has been has been awarded with the Padma Bhushan (Dr.) Shiv Mangal Singh Suman Award.
This honour presented by Medium Literary Institute and Yuva Utkarsh Literary Forum Delhi in the 33rd Attahaas Samman Ceremony organized on July 13, 2024 at Hindi Bhawan, New Delhi. On this occasion Padma Shri Ashok Chakradhar, Dr. Captain Singh, satirist Alok Puranik, Mr. Anoop Srivastava, Subhash Chandra, Ram Kishore Upadhyay, Alok Shukla etc. also present on the stage.
It is noteworthy that in this program the book of humorous satirical poems entitled “Poonch” penned by Shri Kewal Kumar Kewal will also be launched. Established humorous satirical poet and children's poet of Hindi and Dogri language, Mr. Kewal Kumar 'Kewal' was born on February 02, 1974 in the house of father Sh. Sardari Lal and mother Mrs. Prakasho Devi in Barui village of district Jammu. He did M.A. from Jammu University. (Hindi) degree.
He was fond of reading and writing literature since childhood, due to which today Kewal ji is known as a reputed poet. Presently working as a teacher in the Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir. Along with writing, He is also known as a Radio, T.V. and stage comedian artist. Kewal ji got married to Lalita Sharma in 2002. He had 08 books been published so far in Hindi and Dogri language till now,
He has received many honors and awards for his writings, including honor by Rashtriya Kavi Sangam, Delhi, Dogri Bhasha Academy, Jammu Award, Vidyavachaspati Saraswat Award by Vikramshila Hindi Vidyapeeth, Kavya Rangoli Sahitya Bhushan by Khamaria Pandit, Uttar Pradesh.
