Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 18- Lauding Centre for new literatures, Culture and Communication University of Jammu for initiating the workshop on innovative planning for women’s development, Dr. Huma Masood, Program Officer, UNESCO, New Delhi in her valedictory address highlighted the importance of introducing new schemes for the marginalized women and the dire necessity of educating men to realize the problems of women and try to be good partners to them. Men should not blow whistle of their masculinity but rather share the burden of women in day to day activities, she said and revealed that UNESCO is proposing to introduce a gender neutral language. Prof. B.P.S. Sehgal, Dean, Academic Affairs, University of Jammu, who presided over the function, underlined the urgency to help eradicate bad customs such as child marriage and destroying of female fetus as these incidents are still happening in Rajasthan and Haryana. Time has come when there should be no discrimination between the sexes while providing employment opportunity to them. Prof. Posh Charak, Director, Centre for New Literatures, Culture and Communication, University of Jammu, Dr. Garima Gupta from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, Dr. Lubana Nahvi from Srinagar, Dr. Navdeep Dhillon from Amritsar, Kiran Kalra and Noeleen Saldanha from Jammu gave addressed the workshop. Prof. Chandra Mohan, Academic Advisor who also spoke on the occasion said that the Centre will publish the proceedings of the Workshop for the benefit of the participants, men, women and youth. Sadaf Shah conducted the program while Taranum Khan proposed the vote of thanks. Later, Dr. Huma distributed certificates to the participants.
