Police arrested bovine smuggler; rescued 21 bovines, seized 2 vehicles

Samba, July 15: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Police has foiled two bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba and Police Station Ghagwal respectively, arrested a bovine smuggler, rescued twenty one bovines and seized two vehicles.
A Police team of Police Station Samba headed by SHO PS Samba while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka Nud, intercepted a truck bearing registration No. JK03F-4511 coming from Samba side for its checking. During checking of the vehicle, sixteen bovines were found laden inside which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. All the rescued bovines have been shifted to a safer place.
The bovine smuggler identified as Razak Ahmed S/o Altaf Hussain R/o Asdhar tehsil and district Kishtwar has been arrested. A case FIR No. 188/2024 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation has been started.
Similarly, a Police team of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO PS Ghagwal during special Naka near Railway crossing Ghagwal, intercepted a Mahindra Balero Pickup without registration No. coming via border road for its checking. During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside which were tied in a cruel manner and transported illegally without any valid permission.
A case FIR No. 105/2024 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation is on.
