DC Kupwara chairs DDMA meeting 41 Cases settled, 19.75 lakh sanctioned under SDRF

KUPWARA, July 16: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan who is also Chairperson, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Tuesday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the cases pertaining to property damage in the district.
On the occasion, the DC directed tehsildars, Fire & Emergency service and concerned Executive Engineers to submit joint assessment report of damaged infrastructure in their jurisdiction at an earliest and also ascertain the reason of the incident and duly mention it in the report so that relief is disbursed among the affected families without any delay.
The DC took a case wise review of all the claims pertaining to property and livestock damages.
During the meeting, a total of 18 fire incident cases relating to the damage of residential houses were put forth for discussion, out of which 17 cases were approved for grant of relief under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) norms and 1 case was rejected. Relief of Rs. 18.19 lakh under SDRF was sanctioned in favour of 17 cases.
The DC also took a review of damaged infrastructure by floods in the district. On the occasion, Rs.1.56 lakh were approved and 24 cases were settled.
Meanwhile, the DC complimented ADC Handwara, Tehsildar Zachaldara and other officers for prompt response and immediate submission of damage report pertaining to fire incident at Yangerhar Wader-Payeen (Rajwar) after which the ex-gratia relief in favour of 7 fire victim families was sanctioned in today's DDMA meeting.
Meeting was attended by ADDC Kupwara, ADC Kupwara, ACD Kupwara, ACR Kupwara, CMO, Executive Engineers, Tehsildars and other concerned officers.
