Independence Day-2024 preparations reviewed at Anantnag

ANANTNAG, July 16: A preparatory meeting for smooth celebration of Independence Day, 2024 was today held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid at Dak Bungalow, Anantnag.
At the outset, the DC reviewed the state of preparedness for the Independence Day 2024 celebrations, department wise.
The DC emphasised the significance of Independence Day and its importance in commemorating the nation’s freedom struggle. He highlighted the need for meticulous planning and seamless execution of all arrangements to ensure a grand and memorable celebration.
It was decided that the main function in the district shall be held at the Shaheed Humayun Muzamil Government Degree College Khanabal. The celebration will involve march past, cultural events and programmes by educational institutes.
The DC instructed that proper arrangements shall be made by various departments keeping in view the national importance of the day. These include arrangements pertaining to various cultural activities, seating, security, drinking water, sanitation, medical aid centres, public address systems, cultural events and traffic management besides transportation etc.
The DC instructed that adequate sensitisation of staff pertaining to the significance and protocol of the day, particularly the flag code, be imparted to their staff by various district officers.
The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner, Additional Superintendent of Police, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, General Manager DIC, Assistant Director Food and Consumer Affairs, Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Executive Engineers of R&B, Jal Shakti, District Information Officer, representatives of various CAPFs and other departments.
