Plantation drive under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Program organized by GDC Marh

JAMMU, July 16: With the aim of spreading awareness about forest conservation and saving the environment, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign program was started by NSS unit of GDC Marh under the guidance of Principal Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul.
On this occasion, the Principal Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul said that trees and plants are our life savers. He further said that the way of present luxury lifestyle has harmed the environment, if it is not taken care of in time, then the entire human community can face a deep crisis. Untimely rains, high temperatures are some such signs, which are alerting us. In such a situation, the most important thing is plantation.
He said that awareness is also important. Awareness is also being spread through street plays in the surrounding areas through the NSS unit of the college. NSS officer Sachin Kumar Bhagat said that the program “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” is not only awareness but also a feeling, which connects the common man directly to nature. On this occasion, along with the volunteers of NSS, staffs were also present. Volunteers also planted trees at their homes and vicinity along with their mother.
