DC Poonch reviews preparations for I-Day Celebrations 2024

POONCH, July 16: The Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary today chaired a meeting of concerned district level officers to review the necessary preparations and arrangements for Independence Day Celebration 2024 at the Dak Bungalow Poonch.
The Deputy Commissioner meticulously went through various aspects of the Independence Day celebrations, including security arrangements, venue decoration, public address system, seating arrangement, fire safety, cultural programs, parade preparations, refreshments, plantation drive, illumination of government buildings, media coverage, decoration etc.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed all the concerned departments to make the arrangements well in time for a smooth celebration of this national event. The main function will be held at the sports stadium, where the Chief Guest will unfurl the national flag and take the salute at the march-past presented by various contingents.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the authorities to launch a comprehensive cleanliness drive in and around the venue and ensure uninterrupted power and water supply on the day of the celebrations.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner informed that a full-dress rehearsal will be held on August 13, and screening of cultural activities will take place at Sheesh Mahal on August 10, 2024. The Information Department has been tasked with making arrangements for a fault-free public address system and comprehensive media coverage of the event, which will commence with the playing of Shahnai by the department.
The Deputy Commissioner has also directed the concerned executive engineers to ensure adequate arrangements for barricading, seating, drinking water supply, and uninterrupted power supply on the day of the function. Additionally, he has passed instructions to the concerned officers to make provisions for ambulance, fire tender, security, and adequate manpower at the venue.
