SMC monitors enhanced Civic Amenities for smooth observance of Youm-e- Ashura Procession

SRINAGAR, July 17: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) demonstrated unwavering commitment in providing enhanced civic amenities to ensure the smooth observance of the Youmi-e-Ashura procession in Srinagar's Old City.
The procession, started from Gulshan Bagh Botakadal, Madin Sahab Srinagar, and concluded at Mir Shams-ud-Din Araqi Zadibal Srinagar. The SMC officials provided full support to the people on the ocassion and distributed refreshments to Mourners, underscoring a sense of solidarity and care.
In line with its mission to improve civic amenities and infrastructure, SMC actively engaged in enhancing the overall experience for mourners during the procession. The Mist Blowers and Water Sprinkling Machines were put in use to beat the heat and aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of all mourners.
SMC had successfully identified the necessary roads and promptly executed macadamization/patch works and also installed street lights to enhance visibility. SMC's dedicated sanitation teams, who typically work tirelessly on the ground, have extended their working hours to ensure that sanitation tasks are completed from early morning until late evening.
SMC have provided 24x7 Drinking Water facilities, Deployment of Mobile Toilet Vans, Round-the-Clock Sanitation Services. The collaborative efforts of designated SMC officials underscored the importance of upholding cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards throughout the procession. Dr. Owais Ahmad, Commissioner SMC commended the dedication and hard work of SMC officials for their round-the-clock efforts in providing seamless services during the Youm-e-Ashura Procession. Their commitment to excellence played a crucial role in ensuring a successful and safe observance of this important event.
