JAMMU, July 17: A plantation drive was organised in the premises of the Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Akademy, Roop Nagar, Jammu today.
The drive was headed by B.R. Kundal IAS working President of BDSA and joined by R.L. Bharti IFS, Sewadas Digra, Ravinder Singh alias Ravi both Addl. DG, GSI(Retd.), Nagar Mal AC(Retd), Prem Nath Civil Contractor, Er. H. R. Phonsa, Purshotam Lal Station Superintendent Indian railways, Er. Dharuv Ghai, Dr. Sanjiv Digra Child Specialist GMC, S.L Salgotra a social activist, Davinder Kumar, Amit Kumar of Bahu Fort Jammu and many others. For the said plantation , technical support was extended by Vijay Kumar. It was also agreed by the participants, to take up similar plantation, in their areas as well. Plants procured are fruit bearing as also non fruit bearing. To ensure their survival, arrangements for regular watering has also been put in place. Sweets were also distributed at the end of the plantation drive. |
