DC Srinagar chairs Annual General Body meeting of Zila Sainik Welfare Board

SRINAGAR, JULY 19:- Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, who is also the President Sainik Welfare Board today chaired Annual General Body Meeting of Zila Sainik Welfare Board here at Meeting Hall of DC Complex Srinagar. At the outset DC / President Sainik Welfare Board took a detailed review of the functioning of Zila Sainik Welfare Board. The DC held a detailed discussion regarding issues related to the Ex-Servicemen and Widows / War Widows. The DC said that the District Administration is providing all required support to Zila Sainik Welfare Board-cum- Sainik Bhawan Srinagar in order to furthe r strengthen its functioning and infrastructure development.
The DC stressed on early commencement of the balance work for the Hostel for Wards of Ex-Servicemen / Martyrs at Peer Bagh (Airport Road Srinagar).
The DC stressed on taking up all the issues of the Veteran’s and serving soldiers on priority for resolution and also directed Zila Sainik Welfare Board to take up the upgradation work of infrastructure of Sainik Bhawan specially for the guest rooms of the Bhawan.
The DC and the Board members were given a brief power point presentation regarding the overall functioning of Zila Sainik Welfare Board having jurisdiction over 07 Districts of the Kashmir Valley (District - Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama).
Before culminating the meeting The President Sainik Board impressed upon all the officials to ensure proper welfare to the Ex-Servicemen / War Widows / Widows and their NOKs (Next of Kin’s).
The meeting was attended by General Manager DIC, Chief Planning Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, DSP HQs of South and Central Kashmir which includes District Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Ganderbal, Budgam and Srinagar. Besides Senior Officers, Colonel Veteran’s DPDO, Defence Veteran’s and representative of concerned Constituency MP also attended the meeting.
