DC Doda chairs District Level review meeting of PMEGP

DODA, July 20: District Development Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh chaired a review meeting of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) today at the Mini Conference Hall of the DC office complex in Doda.
The meeting was attended by CPO Doda Manesh Kumar Manhas, GM DIC Doda S. Parmjeet Singh, CEO Doda P.L. Thapa, CMO Doda Om Prakash, CAO Doda Anil Gupta, Zonal Manager JK Bank, members of the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC), and various district officers, including the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Superintendent ITI, District Officer KVIB, a representative of KVIC Jammu and Director of the Rural Self Employment Training Institute.
The agenda of the meeting included a comprehensive review of the progress made under the PMEGP scheme. Participants discussed challenges faced during the implementation of the scheme and strategized on future directions to enhance its effectiveness in the district. Specific challenges identified included delays in project approvals and the need for better coordination among implementing agencies.
DC directed the officers to streamline the project approval process and ensure timely disbursal of funds to beneficiaries.
He emphasized the importance of providing adequate training and support to entrepreneurs to improve the success rate of funded projects. Additionally, he called for regular monitoring and evaluation of ongoing projects to address issues promptly and improve overall outcomes.
The district officers were tasked with formulating actionable plans to overcome identified challenges and enhance the scheme’s impact on employment generation in Doda.
The GM DIC presented a detailed overview of all the parameters of the PMEGP scheme and highlighted the requirements and eligibility criteria for the scheme.
He also provided detailed information regarding disbursement, pending cases, the process of handling applications, subsidiary parameters, conditions for sanction, and the case sponsorship process.
DC urged the officers to prioritize sponsoring the scheme to dedicated youth and female entrepreneurs to maximize the benefits of the scheme. He also stressed the need to boost the “Mumkin” scheme to provide employment to unemployed youth.
