Arrangements for I-Day 2024 celebrations reviewed at Kulgam

KULGAM, July 20: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today convened a meeting of Officers to review arrangements to be put in place by different departments for celebration of Independence Day, 2024.
During the meeting, the main venue was decided where the Tricolour will be hoisted by the chief guest, followed by the march past which will be presented by contingents from District Police, CRPF, IRPF, Women Contingent, Police band, NCC, students and other contingents.
Threadbare discussion was also held with regard to the security arrangements, traffic regulation, seating arrangements, Full Dress Rehearsal, decoration, PAS, power and water supply, transport arrangements, sanitation, Medicare facilities, invitation cards, Barricading at the venue of function, etc.
The DC directed all officers to make fool-proof arrangements at all levels in advance for the National event to make it a great success.
He instructed the Officers to ensure all related arrangements are made well in advance and work in close coordination for the smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations across the district.
PDD and Jal Shakti departments were directed to ensure proper management of electricity and water including water tankers at the venue.
The CMO was asked to ensure proper medical facilities along with staff and ambulances at the venue of celebration.
The EO of Municipal Council Kulgam was directed by the DC to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of the main venue and town.
PDD was tasked for illumination of the mini-secretariat and other main offices.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Viqar Ahmad Giri; SDM Noorabad, Bashir Ul Hassan; ACR, Mustaq Ahmad Lone; ACD, Syed Naseer; ACP, Nazia Hassan; CEO, CMO, Commandant CRPF 18th battalion, Tehsildars, Dy.SP Hq., Ex. Engineers of R&B and PHE and other district and sectoral officers of the district.
