| Mega drive by BDO to enforce ban on polythene | | |  Early times report
UDHAMPUR, July 22: A mega drive to enforce the ban on polythene and single use plastic was conducted in Block Jaganoo of district Udhampur by Block Development Officer (BDO), Alka Misra.
The BDO also made the public and traders aware about the use jute bags as an alternate to poly-bags.
She educated the public and traders that jute bags were safe and bio-degradable and are environment friendly.
Officials of different government departments like Revenue, Food and Civil Supplies etc were also the part of drive.
The BDO Mishra asked the traders and pubic that polythene bags are harmful for human health.
About 6.5 kg of banned poly-bags were seized on the occasion and warning was also issued to the erring shopkeepers and traders that otherwise they will be penalised hard for such violations.
