DC Kishtwar reviews Independence Day arrangements

KISHTWAR, July 22: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, convened a meeting with line department officers today to discuss the preparations for the grand celebration of Independence Day 2024 in the district.
Among the attendees were SSP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom, JKPS; ADC Kishtwar Pawan Kotwal; CPO Kishtwar Shahnawaz Bali; ACD Kishtwar Phulail Singh; AD Food/DIO Kishtwar Shafqat Keen; Tehsildar HQ; AO DC Office, along with other district officers and concerned ExEns.
The main event shall be held at Chowgan Ground, Kishtwar, with additional celebrations planned at various blocks, tehsils, and government offices throughout the district. Distinguished guests will proudly hoist the National Flag during the ceremonies.
During the meeting, detailed discussions took place regarding flag hoisting, cultural activities, dress rehearsals, and essential logistical and safety arrangements for the main program at Chowgan Ground.
DIO Kishtwar and CEO Municipal Council Kishtwar were instructed to ensure the Shahnai Vadan at the venue and MC office Kishtwar on the morning of Independence Day.
The responsibility of singing the National Anthem was assigned to GHSS Girls. A joint rehearsal of cultural programs and the troop parade will commence tomorrow onwards, with the final dress rehearsal scheduled for 13th August 2024.
SSP Kishtwar assured comprehensive security arrangements throughout the district to ensure a smooth and safe celebration of Independence Day. The March Past Practice will be overseen by SSP Kishtwar.
Various other preparations were also discussed during the meeting, including venue and stage setup, installation of shamianas by ExEn PWD, floral decorations by the Floriculture Department, Public Address System by DI&PR Kishtwar, proper seating arrangements, fire tender services, sanitary facilities, lime lining by EO Municipal Council, and water and power supply by the concerned ExEns at main venue.
First aid facilities will be provided by the CMO, while designated committees will screen cultural items, and DYSSO will manage the procurement of mementos and trophies for participants.
Additionally, 14 Freedom Fighters will lead school children’s Prabhat Pheris, with one Freedom Fighter accompanying each school and sharing their freedom stories.
Furthermore, Swachta Pakhwada will be organized by BDOs from 1st to 14th August 2024 under the supervision of ACD Kishtwar.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar emphasized the importance of all concerned officers working in a synchronized manner to ensure timely arrangements for the smooth celebration of the National Day.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner issued necessary directions to concern stakeholders to ensure the successful conduct of the National Event.
