SOTTO organizes Poster Competition on Organ Donation in Kashmir division

Jammu, July 22: In the Organ Donation month of July 2024, Jammu and Kashmir Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) with message “Angdaan Jan Jagrukta Abhiyaan” organized a Poster Making Competition at Florence Paramedical and Nursing Institute, Nai Basti in Anantnag.
Students from various Nursing Colleges of Kashmir Division namely Florence Paramedical and Nursing Institute, Nai Basti; SET Paramedical and Nursing Institute; Bij Behara, Anantnag; Government Nursing College/GNM, Pulwama; South Kashmir Paramedical and Nursing College, Kulgam; Institute of Nursing, University of Kashmir, South Campus, Fatehgarh Anantnag ; Government Nursing College, Anantnag and Dolphin Nursing College, Pulwama, painted creatively a message of organ donation through their art.
Dr Sanjeev Puri, Joint Director SOTTO J&K provided insights into the National Organ Transplant Programme (NOTP) by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare to promote organ donation and transplantation in India.
Irfan Ahmad Lone, Transplant Coordinator SOTTO encouraged the audience to actively participate in the organ donation pledge drive under Ayushman Bhav.
Dr Manzoor Ahmad Mir, HOD Bio Resources, University of Kashmir, Srinagar and Dr Saima Jeelani, Assistant Professor, Govt. Nursing College Anantnag motivated the students to help others in this noble act, so that someone can live a life of happiness.
Sana Sofi from Florence Paramedical and Nursing Institute, Nai Basti, Dist Anantnag secured first position, Mehak Majeeb from Dolphin Nursing College, Pulwama secured second position and Syed Andleeb from Institute of Nursing, University of Kashmir, South Campus, Fatehgarh Anantnag secured third position in the competition.
Aisha Akhter Principal Florence Paramedical and Nursing Institute, Nai Basti, Dist Anantnag managed the event and thanked the dignitaries, faculty and students from the participating colleges for such competition on this social cause.
