Inter Zonal District Level Competitions Kick Off

Jammu, July 23: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, has successfully commenced the Inter Zonal District Level Competitions today. The event features disciplines including Badminton, Table Tennis, Basketball, and Handball for U/14 and U/17 boys across different venues in Jammu. Additionally, Inter School District Level Trials for Hockey are being conducted at KK Hakoo Stadium Jammu.
The competitions are organized under the patronage of Sh. Subhash Chander Chibber (JKAS), Director of Youth Services and Sports JK UT, with guidance from Joint Director Sh. Ved Parkash (JKAS) and overall supervision by DYSSO Jammu, Sh. Sunil Kumar, along with in-charge Sh. Ram Murti Sharma.
More than 550 boys participated in the various events, showcasing their talents and competing for a chance to advance to the next level of competitions.
Table Tennis
• U-14 Boys: Zone Jammu clinched first place by defeating Zone Gandhi Nagar at MA Stadium.
• U-17 Boys: Zone Jammu also triumphed over Zone Gandhi Nagar to secure the top position.
Badminton
• U-17 Boys Semi-Finals:
o Zone Gandhi Nagar defeated Zone Satwari 2-0.
o Zone Jammu overcame Zone Akhnoor 2-0.
• U-14 Boys Semi-Finals:
o Zone Jammu beat Zone Bishnah 2-0.
o Zone Gandhi Nagar won against Zone Satwari 2-1.
• Finals for both U-14 and U-17 categories will be held tomorrow.
Handball
• U-14 Boys Final: Zone Jammu defeated Zone RS Pura by 6 goals at Dogra Ground, Shastri Nagar.
• U-17 Boys Final: Zone Jammu again emerged victorious against Zone RS Pura, winning by 5 points.
Basketball
• U-14 Boys:
o Zone Gandhi Nagar beat Zone Marh 15-9.
o Zone Akhnoor defeated Zone Jammu 14-2.
• U-17 Boys:
o Zone Jammu won against Zone RS Pura 16-9.
o Zone Miran Sahib beat Zone Satwari 23-8.
o Zone Akhnoor overcame Zone Bhalwal 23-31.
The first day of the Inter Zonal District Level Competitions was marked by remarkable performances and spirited competition across all venues. Zones Jammu, Gandhi Nagar, and RS Pura stood out with their exceptional achievements. The anticipation builds for the upcoming matches, where young athletes will continue to demonstrate their skills and passion for sports.
