Weekly plantation drive at Vishwa Yog Sansthan: A step towards greener Jammu

JAMMU, July 23: The Vishwa Yog Sansthan held its weekly plantation drive today, marking a significant step under the Clean and Green Jammu movement. This ongoing initiative, aimed at planting one lakh trees, occurs every Tuesday and saw a special celebration today as it coincided with the first Tuesday of the auspicious Savan month.
Savan, a month of great importance in Hinduism, brought added spiritual significance to the event. Volunteers commenced the drive with prayers to Siddhiyon ke Data Hanuman Ji at Vishwa Yog Sansthan. The sacred Tulsi plant was worshipped and planted in the nearby area, symbolizing purity and devotion.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents and students of Vishwa Yog Sansthan. Yog Guru Karan Ji invoked a prayer, saying, "May all beings be happy, may all be free from illness, may all see auspiciousness, and may no one suffer." His message emphasized the importance of yoga, greenery, and global wellness.
The plantation drive received support from several notable figures, including ex corporator Sham Lal Bassan (Ward 48), ex corporator Bansi Lal Gupta, and Mahant of Hari Ki Pauri Mandir Bawe, Mahadev, Sham Bassan presents a warm welcome to all the Jammu citizens and gave a message to be a part of Vishwa Yog Sansthan and this plantation drive. Participation of yoga students from Vishwa Yog Sansthan further energized the event.
This initiative is conducted in collaboration with the Forest Department, directed by Ashwani Kumar. Extending beyond Jammu and Kashmir, the plantation drive has also reached areas in Dehradun and Udhampur, showcasing a broad commitment to environmental conservation.
