| Workshop for scouts, guides concludes | | | Early Times Report
Leh Mar 19-: The 6-day long workshop cum training program for the cultural guides organized by the Namgail Institution in collaboration with the UNESCO, Tourism Department and District Administration Leh concluded here today. More than 80 candidates including three from Kargil participated in the workshop. The Deputy Commissioner, Ajeet Kumar Sahu who presided over the valedictory function said that such training is imperative for the tourist Guides to make themselves fully educated about the importance and magnitude of cultural values so that they may be also be provide right description of culture, monuments, statues and historical objects to the Tourist. He said that this kind of training would develop a professional skill among the Guides. He stressed the need for organizing more such training programs for the intended Guides in near future. During the course of training, the Resource persons of UNESCO, Scholars of Central Institute of Buddhist Studies, Leh and other experts and academicians like Gey Paldan gave lectures on various subjects like thanka painting, fresco painting, sculpture, rock and wood curved available in Ladakh. Later, the chief guest AK Sahu distributed certificates among the participants. *******
